Personal behaviours, professional outcomes

What fascinates me most in my work is how our personal lives interconnect so intricately with our professional lives.

Within families and personal lives, we all know that safety, respect, fun, appreciation and security in creates resilience to get through tough times.

The same applies to organisations too.

Individual leaders / employees can start doing their own bit by appreciating that their smallest behaviours at work are critical to the long term culture and overall success of their organisation.

At work, each stakeholder can:

πŸ‘‰πŸΌ create a safe and respectful culture within their teams even if their organisations don’t seem to overtly value these traits

πŸ‘‰πŸΌ care about how people at different levels of hierarchy are being treated

πŸ‘‰πŸΌ create opportunities for positive interactions between team members

πŸ‘‰πŸΌ create a safety net for team members in distress and identify harmful behaviours

πŸ‘‰πŸΌ appreciate employees for supporting each other

πŸ‘‰πŸΌ create healthy boundaries and state behaviour expectations so that no one member takes advantage of another team member

πŸ‘‰πŸΌ seek training and nurture others in using soft skills at work

πŸ‘‰πŸΌ keep an eye on workload distribution among team members

πŸ‘‰πŸΌ introduce and value accountability
